About Us
Our Story
A love story woven through culture, craft, and the breathtaking highlands of Ecuador.

The Founders
Michael & Janneth Herman
Michael and Janneth Herman are the founders of AndesLoom, a brand inspired by culture, craftsmanship, and a shared love for exploration. Janneth, a native of Ecuador, grew up surrounded by the rich traditions of the Andes, where textiles carry stories passed down through generations.
Michael, from Texas, brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep appreciation for building meaningful brands. Their paths crossed in Ecuador while Michael was working on a business venture, and what began as a partnership quickly grew into something more.
"Every blanket tells a story — of the land, the hands that made it, and the home it finds."
The Journey
How it all began
Chapter One
A chance encounter
United by their love of travel and discovery, Michael and Janneth found a shared passion for creating something that reflects both of their worlds — Ecuadorian heritage and global perspective.

Chapter Two
Discovering the craft
Deep in the Ecuadorian highlands, they met artisan families whose weaving traditions stretched back thousands of years. The beauty and skill of each handmade textile sparked an idea — to share this artistry with the world.
Chapter Three
Building Andes Loom
AndesLoom was born from that connection — blending Ecuadorian heritage with a global perspective. Each piece reflects their journey together, rooted in tradition and inspired by adventure.

"When you choose Andes Loom, you're wrapping yourself in centuries of artistry."
— Michael & Janneth
The Craft
Why alpaca?
Alpaca fiber is one of nature's most remarkable materials. It's softer than cashmere, warmer than merino wool, and naturally water-resistant. It contains no lanolin, making it hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin.
Each blanket is a work of art — handwoven by skilled artisans using techniques perfected over thousands of years in the Andean highlands.

Our Values
What we stand for
Fair Trade
We work directly with artisan communities, ensuring every weaver is paid fairly for their extraordinary craftsmanship.
Sustainability
Alpacas have a gentle footprint on the earth. Their fiber is renewable, biodegradable, and requires no harsh chemicals.
Preservation
By creating a global market for traditional textiles, we help keep ancient weaving arts alive for future generations.
